Beat 3 eggs with 2 tablespoons of milk, and a bit of salt. Pour the mixture into the frying pan. When the eggs are almost ready, add cheese and vegetables to one side of the omelette. Oh, no! There are so many knives, forks and spoons. What are they used for?
Don’t worry. I’ll help you with it.
What fork should I start with?
There is a rule: start from the outside and work your way in toward the plate. Usually the big fork is for the main meals, the big spoon is for the soup.
Why are these spoons and forks placed horizontally above our plates?
They are for dessert. Let’s eat these delicious dishes. If you are not sure, I’ll be your guide.

I don’t have anything in common with Alan’s family. We share the household chores in my family. Each of us has some duties. My mum always does the cooking. I help her in the kitchen at the weekends. My elder sister does the washing up and I dry the dishes. My dad does the shopping twice a week. Mum usually writes list of necessary foods for shopping because she knows better what we need. My sister helps mum to laundry and to iron things. I hate ironing. Nobody asks me to do it. We have got a dog. My duty is to feed it and to take it for a walk twice a day. I do this with pleasure. On Saturdays we usually tidy our flat together. My duty is to tidy my room. I dust the furniture, put things on right place, vacuum the carpet and clean the floor. I get well with my parents. My family is livery friendly. We love each other very much.
p.84 ex.8.
In my family we share household chores. Unlike Alan’s family, we do not have meetings every Sunday. But we share our duties and everybody has some chores.
I have to make my bed every day. I also tidy up my room and wash up twice a week. My brother has to lay the table and to clear it. He also waters the plants and takes the garbage out. Mum does the cooking. She often does the laundry and the ironing. My dad does the hovering, fixes things and goes shopping. At the weekend we tidy up the flat together. We dust the furniture and put away the things. Then we help our mother to cook something special.
I get on well with my parents. We are a friendly family, and doing chores together makes us more close.

I was tired, so I decided not to wash the dishes that night. But the next night I was even more tired, so I started to pile the dishes on the table. Then I put them on my bookshelves, and even on the floor.
One night I looked in my cupboard and found out that there wasn’t any clean dish there. My whole house was full of dirty dishes. I didn’t know what to do. But suddenly the rain started and I got an idea. I piled all the dishes into my lorry and drove it out into die rain. The rain washed everything. I put everything away.
