My native city is Kharkiv. The history' of Kharkiv dates back to
the 17th century. Nowadays it’s a large city with a population
of about 1.6 min people. In Kharkiv there are a lot of places of interest, and every year the city is visited by many tourists from different countries. My favourite place is Gorky Park. There you can escape from the noise of the city streets and enjoy the freshness of air under the canopy of park trees. Gorky Park is very popular with children. There they can hire roller-skates or ride a horse, or take photos with a monkey. There are a lot of other different attractions: swing boats, merry-go rounds, dodgems, up-and-down roundabouts, a big wheel and others. Gorky park goes to Sumska street — the main street of our city. There ore lots of other sights in our city and I’m sure they are not the Inst to feast eyes by their beauty and magnificence.

Our town is not very old. It was founded In 1896 and was a little industrial town with narrow, dirty streets and small plant in it. Now it is a large industrial centre with a great number of factories, different enterprises and two big works. Our iron and steel works is one of the biggest in our country. It produces steel and iron to many other cities and abroad. Our town is rather big industrial centre in Ukraine.
Our town is very attractive, especially in spring and summer, because it has a lot of greenery. The people like to go for a walk in our two parks.
