1. Look at the photo and the title of Ellen's story. What do you think happened?
I think Ellen saw a thief trying to take a woman's wallet from her bag. She probably shouted or stopped the thief before he could run away. Maybe other people helped too and the woman was very thankful. That's why the story is called Hero for a day! - because Ellen was very brave and saved the woman's money.
2. Read Ellen's story. What do you think of the title for her story? Can you think of a better title?

4. Ending - What happens in the end?

8. Write your story.
While I was closing my curtains one night, I noticed something unusual. At first, I thought it was just the moonlight shining on the grass, but then the light began to move. It danced around my garden like a tiny lantern floating in the air. I froze and kept staring through the window.
Curiosity won. I quietly opened my window and leaned out to see better. The light flickered, then drifted toward the old apple tree. My heart beat faster. Was it a firefly? A flashlight? Something else?
I tiptoed downstairs, slipped on my slippers, and went outside. The garden was cool and silent, except for the soft glow moving between the branches. When I came closer, I saw it clearly at last - a small, round object lying in the grass, glowing like a blue star.
I bent down and picked it up. The light pulsed gently in my hand, warm and soft. Suddenly, it flashed brightly, and for a moment the whole garden lit up. Then the glow faded, and the object became nothing more than a smooth, grey stone.
A little disappointed but still amazed, I carried the stone back to my room. I placed it on my desk and stared at it, wondering what it had been. A trick of the light? Something magical? I didn't know.
In the morning, the stone was still there - but something had changed. A tiny symbol, like a star with wings, had appeared on its surface.
And even today, I still wonder what really visited my garden that night.
