On the first photo I can see a small village near the river. There are some houses and a lot of green spaces. In the background, I can see mountains. It looks very quiet and peaceful.
On the second photo I can see a big city with many high skyscrapers and other buildings. There are no mountains or rivers in sight but it looks very busy with lots of people and traffic.
2. Listen to Alice and Oliver talking about the places. What do they agree on?
Alice and Oliver agree that there aren't many shops or cinemas in the countryside. You meet more people in cities and can make more friends. There are crowds and rush hours are terrible in the city. Also, the pollution is the biggest problem in cities.
3. Read the Prepare to speak box. Then listen again. Which phrases do Alice and Oliver use? First, read the phrases which Alice uses, then read the ones that Oliver uses.

5. Prepare your ideas on two of the topics below.
Speech 1:
Going to the cinema vs. watching films at home I want to talk about going to the cinema and watching films at home. Going to the cinema is exciting because the screen is big and the sound is loud. You can enjoy new films as soon as they come out. However, cinema tickets and snacks can be expensive, and you can't pause the film if you miss something.
Watching films at home is cheaper and more comfortable. You cart pause the film, relax on the sofa, and eat whatever you want. But the experience Is not as special, and the screen is much smaller.
Both options are fun, but I usually prefer watching films at home because it's easier and more relaxing.
Speech 2:
Living in an apartment building vs. Iiving in a house Now I want to compare living in an apartment building and living in a house.
Living in an apartment is convenient because everything is close - shops, schools, and transport. Apartments are easy to clean and neighbors make the place feel safe. But apartments are small, and you may hear noise from other people.
Living in a house gives you more space and privacy. You can have a garden and even keep pets. However, houses are more expensive and harder to take care of, and they are often farther from the city center. Both have advantages, but I would choose a house because I love having more space and a quiet environment.

Write about an interesting visit to a famous city. Think about your answers to the questions.
Last spring, I visited Kyiv with my family. We went there for three days, and the weather was warm and sunny, perfect for walking around. We saw many famous places, including Khreshchatyk Street, Independence Square, and the beautiful golden - domed St. Michael's Monastery. We also visited the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, where I learned a lot about the city's long and important history. One afternoon, we went shopping for souvenirs and traditional Ukrainian crafts. My favourite part of the trip was taking a boat ride along the Dnipro River and seeing the city from the water. It was an amazing visit, and I hope to go back again someday.
