Vocabulary
1. Match the words in the box with A - K in the photos.
A - baggage hall; В - baggage; C - security check;

2. Work in pairs. Number the photos in order and then use them to describe what you do at an international airport.
1. You arrive at the airport and go to the check - in desk.
You show your passport, your ticket, and you check in your luggage.

You put your bag, coat, phone, and metal objects into a tray. You walk through the security scanner.
3. After security, you enter the departure area.

5. You board the plane.
You walk through the jet bridge, find your seat, put your hand luggage in the overhead locker, and sit down.
6. The plane takes off.
You listen to the safety instructions and get ready for the flight.

1. What's the difference between a boarding pass and a ticket?
A ticket shows that you bought your flight. It usually has your name, flight number, and booking reference.
A boarding pass is what allows you to get on the plane. You receive it after check - in, and it shows your seat number, gate, and boarding time.
2. What's the difference between a security check and a customs check?
Security check happens before boarding. They check your bags, liquids, and make sure you don't carry dangerous items.
Customs check usually happens after landing. They check what you are bringing into the country (food, money, expensive Items, etc.) and make sure everything follows the law.
3. What are the best and worst things about air travel?
Best things:
It is the fastest way to travel long distances.
You can visit places on the other side of the world.
It feels exciting - airports, planes, take - off, views from the window.
Worst things:
Airport lines can be long (security, check - in, passport control).
Flights can be delayed or cancelled.
It can be uncomfortable if there isn't much legroom.
Turbulence can be scary for some people.

Grammar
1. Read the examples. Then complete the rules with be going to or present continuous.
We use:
a. present continuous to talk about future plans and arrangements, usually with a specific time reference (for example, next week, in August).
b. be going to for things we intend to do some time in the future, sometimes with a non - specific time reference (for example, one day, some time).
c. be going to when we predict things that we know are likely.
2. Complete the conversation with the correct form of be going to and the verbs in brackets.
