Box breathing
Box breathing comes from the number of sides that a box has - four! First you count to four and exhale (breathe out). Then, count to four. Next, inhale (breathe in), counting to four. Keep the air in while you count to four.
Box breathing helps you to relax and to focus better. Practise box breathing when you're having a shower, on the bus and before you start an exam or play in an important match!

The Pomodoro Technique
When you are studying for an exam, try the Pomodoro Technique. You take a break for 5 minutes. Do this break. Each 25 - minute period is a 'Pomodoro'. This is the Italian name for a tomato.
Francesco Cirillo, the man who invented this technique, timed his 25 - minute periods with a timer that looked like a tomato!
1 - There are four steps in box breathing.
2 - In each step, you count to four.
3 - When you would like to relax and focus, box breathing can help.
4 - You take a five - minute break after 25 minutes in the Pomodoro Technique.
5 - The name for this technique is the Italian word for a tomato.
