4. Complete the sentences. Then compare them with your partner's.

Grammar
1. Read the examples. Then complete the rules with just, already and yet.
We often use just, already and yet with the present perfect to talk about recent actions.
a. already means that something happened before now or sooner than expected.
b. just means a short time ago.
c. yet means that the speaker expected something to happen before now.
2. Choose the correct words.

3. Look at the examples in Ex. 1 and complete the rules.
We use (1) just and (2) already in positive sentences. They come after have and before the past participle. We use (3) yet in negative sentences and questions. It comes a t the end of the sentence.
4. Make sentences using the present perfect and just, already and yet.
1. We have just heard some amazing news.
2. I have already put off my dentist's appointment once.
3. I have just sat down and I am absolutely exhausted.

5. Correct the mistake in each sentence.

6. Turn to page 132. Kate is getting ready for a party. Look at the picture. Say what Kate has already done and what she hasn't done yet. Use the words in the box.
Kate has already had a shower and has washed her hair. She has tidied her room, so it looks neat now. She has written the birthday card, but she hasn't wrapped the present yet. Kate hasn't ironed her clothes yet, so she still needs to do that. She is almost ready for the party, but there are a few things left to finish.

1. You see this notice on an English - language website. What's your favourite day of the week?
My Favourite Day of the Week
My favourite day of the week is Saturday. I like it the most because I don't have to wake up early or rush anywhere, and I can finally relax after a busy week.
On Saturdays, I usually spend time with my family and friends. I like going for walks, watching films, or doing my hobbies at home. Sometimes I meet my friends, and we talk, laugh, and enjoy our free time together.
This day always makes me feel happy and relaxed. I don't feel stressed about school or homework, and I can enjoy every moment. Saturday gives me energy for the next week and helps me feel positive and calm.
2. Read the article. Write notes of the answers to the questions in the notice in Ex. 1.
Best day: Sunday
Activities: gets up late, looks online for project ideas, goes climbing, has dinner with relatives, watches a film;
Feelings: excited, full of energy, relaxed.
3. Read the Prepare to write box. Find the phrases used in the article.
Are you one of those people who looks forward to weekends?
I absolutely love Sundays.
When I wake up, I feel excited and full of energy.
I think it is a challenging sport, but it is also really exciting.
In my view, it is perfectly relaxing end to my favourite day.

My Favourite Day of the Week
My favourite day of the week is Sunday. I like it the most because it is calm and peaceful, and I don't have to hurry anywhere. It feels like a perfect break before a new week begins.
On Sundays, I usually spend time with my family. We often have a long breakfast together, go for a walk, or visit relatives. I also like reading a book or watching a film in the evening because I finally have time to relax.
This day makes me feel happy, relaxed, and comfortable. I don't feel stressed about school or work, and I can enjoy simple things. Sunday helps me rest and get ready for the week ahead, which is why it is my favourite day.
