2. Close your book and listen. You will hear the irregular past tense. Say the verb it comes from.

3. Complete Callum and Lottie's conversation. Use the words and phrases in the box.
Callum: How was your summer holiday, Lottie?
Lottie: It was brilliant! I didn't want to leave!
Callum: Did you get up early every day?
Lottie: Of course not! We got up late and we went to bed late.
Callum: Did you take any photos?
Lottie: Yes, I did. I took hundreds of them!
4. Make conversations. Use the verbs in brackets.

I hope your holidays Owere good. I had a great time in New York. It was a special holiday for my dad's 50th birthday.
We stayed at a nice hotel called Alberto's. We could see lots of famous places from our bedroom window.
The food in New York was great. We ate in a different restaurant every night. My favourite restaurant was Chinese.
We did lots of sightseeing and visited some interesting museums. We went to the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. We also saw a show on Broadway. Of course, my mum loved the large shops. She bought new clothes for all of us. I took lots of photos. They're all online now - have a look!
8. Write an email to a friend about your last holiday. Look at the text in Exercise 7 for ideas.

As for my I spend fantastic holidays in London. I went there with my family. This time we decided to visit London and all its places of interest. We went sightseeing every day. All museums were free of charge and they all very interesting. We went on tour around London. The view, buildings and monuments were very nice.
I enjoyed the time with my family in London.
And how did you spend your holiday?

1. Look at the title of the article and the photos. Which countries do you think the man visited? Read the article quickly and check your ideas.
The article mentions Britain, France, Kuala Lumpur, Canada, Brazil, the US, Mexico and Central America.
2. Read the article about Chen Guan Ming and answer the questions.
1. What was Chen's job when he was young? - He was a farmer.
2. How far did he cycle to get to Beijing? - He cycled 90 000 km to get to Beijing.
3. When did Chen leave home to go to London? - He left home in 2010.
4. Where did Chen go after the London Olympics? - He went home.
Then he went to the Olympic Games in Rio via Canada and the USA.

First, we went to London to see our relatives.

We went for a walk first and than went on a tour by double - decker.
Anyway the trip was interesting and fantastic.
