The best way to make it clear what foreigners think about Ukraine is to look from the other side. Do you agree?
Agree: Looking from the outside shows us how Ukraine is perceived abroad. Foreigners notice things that locals take for granted (for example: hospitality, food, nature, music). It helps Ukrainians understand what image their country has in the world and what should be promoted more.
Disagree: Foreigners sometimes see only stereotypes (Cossacks, borshch, war) and may not understand the deeper culture. Only Ukrainians truly know their traditions, history, and lifestyle. The best picture of Ukraine should be built from both inside (Ukrainians’ voices) and outside (foreigners’ impressions).

Ukraine is one of the largest countries in eastern Europe. It covers an area of 603 700 square kilometres. Its territory stretches for 893 kilometres from the north to the south and for 1316 kilometres from the east to the west. Ukraine is bordered by Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Belarus and Russia. In the south, it is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The major part of Ukraine is flat and only 5% of the whole territiry is mountainous. The two mountainous areas in Ukraine are the Carpathians and the Crimean Mountains, but they are not very high. The main rivers are the Dnipro, the Dnister, the Southern Buh, the Donets and others. Many nationalities inhabit our country: Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, Jews, Poles, Moldovans, Romanians, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Greeks, etc. The population of Ukraine is called the Ukrainian nation.
